Heidi holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing and Bachelor of Media Studies (University of Adelaide). Studies in advertising at the Peter Drucker School of Management and online media at California’s prestigious liberal art school, Pitzer College, has given Heidi a global outlook on social media trends and an understanding for how the medium is harnessed to drive engagement and influence change.
Heidi’s career in media and communications has seen her work with national livestock Councils, state farming organisations and government departments. She has crafted results-driven social media strategies and held community management partnerships with Australasia-Pacific Extension Network (APEN), Territory Natural Resource Management (TNRM), Australian Rangelands Society (ARS), Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association, Paroo Pastoral Company (PPC), The Rural Woman (TRW), CentreCare Wilcannia-Forbes (CWF), Lightforce Australia Ltd Pty, FREE Eyre Limited and Michell Wool Ltd Pty.
Heidi’s husband, James Wright, is business development manger for the family-station fold, located in the western division of NSW and Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. He helps to ensure the sustainability of the rangelands which is farmed for organic and non-organic sheepmeat, beef and wool. James’s insights into Government, industry and landholder perspectives on environmental issues has helped him assist pastoralists in the adoption of best practice NRM in various roles.
